Bob - After reading the weekly ‘journey of generosity’ devotion; I have chosen one of my most loved toys to give to the Lord; please pray with me that it will sell and I can keep my promise.

Last Sunday as the offering basket was being passed, we gave the Lord our last ten dollars. My wife said “I would like to see how the Lord is going to multiply this”. Well, it didn’t take long – as we were moving into our new rental property, we were cleaning out the drawer that we put our junk mail in and my wife Lena discovered an unopened envelope. We opened it to find $1500 in cash. WOW! God sure works in mysterious ways. So, full of faith we put in another tithe and looked after some bills that needed attention. Praise be to the Father. He is indeed Great, not good, Great!

Bonnie - I wanted to share a personal note with you regarding giving. Years ago, after my marriage broke up, I found myself on social assistance. Those years were not easy ones. I was helped by so many people in the church I was attending. I felt guilty sometimes that I couldn’t tithe as much as the other people so I determined that I would be as hospitable as I could be and that if I ever was in a position some day to bless people then I would. I determined to be the first one to invite someone new (even their first time visit) to my home for a meal. They weren’t fancy meals, but we had great times of fellowship.

Now I am in a position to bless more and tithe more and I always remember the blessings that I received exactly when I needed them. God has surrounded me with people in need in my neighborhood and from work. It is truly a blessing to give and I am thankful every day for His blessings in my life and that the lean years are behind me. However, I know that whatever happens God will provide for me.
